This letter must be signed by the individual listed as the owner or first lienholder on the current motor vehicle title and include the following:

    • If the prior address recorded on the car title was out-of-state, proof of a residence within the State of Alabama (such as a lease or utility bill) may be required.
    • The car owner’s mailing location including city, state and zip code.
    • The car owner’s name as it is listed on the title for car.
    •  A passage stating that the owner wishes to change the address on the DMV car title and why (if applicable).
  • Proof of ID such as your AL driving license.
  • The copy of the current car title.
  • A money order or cashier’s check in the amount of $18. This fee cost is subject to change without notice.

How to Change Car Title Address In-Person
